The General Administration of Customs published China's foreign trade figures on January 11, 2004. Customs statistics show China's foreign trade volume hit 1.1547.4 trillion USD in 2004, up 35.7% year-on-year with a net increase of 303.7 billion USD. The trade figure is 2.3 times that of 2001 before China joined the WTO. Imports and exports last year both exceeded 500 billion USD. Imports stood at 561.38 billion USD, up 36%; exports 593.36 billion USD, up 35.4%. The trade surplus was 31.98 billion USD. |
